Accident On Plunkett Road Claims Life

On 9 November, 2021, a woman has died, and four others were seriously injured, in a two-vehicle crash at Cedar Creek along Plunkett Road.
At about 6.20pm, a brown four-wheel drive and a silvercoloured four-wheel drive collided on Plunkett Road while travelling in opposite directions.

The driver of the silver-coloured vehicle, a 47-year-old Yatala woman, was pronounced deceased at the scene.

A 46-year-old Yatala man, a 17-year-old girl and a 15-year-old girl, the other occupants of the vehicle (her family), were transported to the Gold Coast University Hospital, Princess Alexandra Hospital and Queensland Children’s Hospital respectively. All were in serious condition.

The driver of the brown vehicle, a 44-year-old Yarrabilba man, was taken to the Gold Coast University Hospital in a critical condition.

The Forensic Crash Unit is conducting an investigation and asks for anyone who may have witnessed the crash, or has dash-cam footage of either vehicle, to contact police.
