The Scenic Rim’s best and brightest business stars have been recognised at the 2021 Scenic Rim Business Excellence Awards Ceremony last night.
More than 210 guests gathered at the Boonah Cultural Centre for the announcement of the 2021 award winners, which saw The Lime Caviar Company crowned business of the year with the Regional Prosperity Award.
Scenic Rim Mayor Greg Christensen said the night’s celebrations were long overdue.
“Having battled fires, floods and a global pandemic, the biggest takeaway from this years’ awards is the incredible resilience, determination and innovation of our local business community,” he said.
“Once COVID-19 was on our shores, local businesses had no choice but to reposition themselves, whether it be moving to online shopping, hospitality changing to take-away only, or performing a complete overhaul on their operating systems to help keep their staff, customers and the community safe.
“While all local businesses deserve sincere thanks for continuing to support local jobs and keeping our economy moving, these awards are about showcasing the best of the best in the Scenic Rim.
“The Scenic Rim Business Excellence Awards highlight those who go above and beyond in customer service and innovation, recognises their achievements and shows us all what’s possible.
“Our judges certainly had their work cut out for them assessing 65 nominations received from 49 businesses across 11 nomination categories, and commented on the high calibre of submissions.
“Besides being an opportunity to showcase our industry-leading businesses, the awards also send a strong message to potential investors and jobseekers that the Scenic Rim is full of opportunity.
“From our award-winning tourism and hospitality sector to thriving agriculture and construction, retail, transport and more, we are a region where you can live, play and grow your career.
“After the cancellation of the Awards in 2020 due to COVID-19, I’m so proud we could bring them back this year and would like to thank all of our sponsors who help made the awards ceremony a night to remember.
“Most importantly, I would like to recognise all our nominees for backing their own businesses and employees, and congratulate the winners.”
