Historical Music Moments In The Beer Garden
Bearded Dragon is super pleased to announce a great new act coming to the Main Stage 18th December. For those who are nostalgic and remember the early days of the hotel opening and offering a Live Music in the Beer Garden that had about 12 tables, you might remember “Roo”! He was a true showman and danced and serenaded the crowd on our picnic table tops in the middle of the crowd, (screw public liability we didn’t even know what it meant in the 90’s). We fondly remember the “Angry Penguins” and no one can forget that stand out, incredible set of lungs … what a voice!
Well he is back with his amazingly talented daughter for a one off special gig just for us here at Tamborine and if you want to grab your own piece of awesome Live Music Memories … then we will see you Sunday 18th from 2pm.

A Bit More About “Carly & Roo”
Carly Mackerras started singing around the house as a toddler; and just wouldn’t stop. Luckily, this wasn’t a problem as her dad, Roo, is a professional musician and, of course, he encouraged her. So she sang whenever possible and learned to play guitar, piano, violin and drums.
After she finished high school, she asked her dad to help her start gigging and he jumped at the chance. They have now done over 250 professional gigs as an acoustic duo and she has amassed a large repertoire of all-time favourites and cool funky tunes. She has become a wonderful and alluring vocalist and is still only 22!
Roo has been performing professionally around the north coast of NSW since 1984 at almost every type of venue and function (including quite a few gigs with the “Angry Penguins” at the Bearded Dragon in the late 90’s). He has also won 3 ‘Dolphin Awards’: 2 for Best Male Vocalist and 1 for Most Popular Solo Entertainer.

Bearded Dragon Hotel is also pleased to announce more historical Music Moments with local Musician ‘Jezza’ is back on the main stage.
With over 25 years experience in the music industry and over 3500 performances across four states Qld, NSW, SA, and Northern Territory plus International acclaim Jezza is ready to set Tamborine alight with his rockin’ vibe. A multi-instrumentalist and session musician on guitar, drums, piano and vocals he has been support to a plethora of artists including The Angels, Screaming Jets, 1927, James Blundell to name a few. Lock in your calendar Sunday 19th February 2-5pm and Friday 24th February 2023 to make your request from more than 100 classic songs from your favourite artists to choose from, buckle in people, it’s a cracker of a show and you need to book your table now to support this awesome local artist and family man!
