Fundraising Sausage Sizzles
As usual Tamborine Village Lions ran their markets on the first Sunday of October. During October a fundraising sausage sizzle was held at Bunnings Bethania. The weather wasn’t wonderful but the day was fun and raised valuable moneys to fund donations. Unfortunately our other fundraising event for the month, the RTCB Bikes was cancelled.
Tamborine Village Lions Donations
The Tamborine Village Lions Club has now voted to support the Quota Club by allocating funds to their Christmas Hamper programme. It was also decided to support another Hunger Project in Sri Lanka. We will keep you posted of the details.
Twilight Markets And Christmas In The Village
The Lions is busy preparing for Christmas which will be held on 2 December this year. Starting at 5 pm, Santa will be coming in the fire engine, there will be Christmas Carols and gifts for the children.
Dinner Meeting
At October’s Dinner Meeting Tamborine Village Lions received a visit from 1st Vice District Governor Savva Argyrou. Members were given an interesting talk on the Lions organisation, followed by a Chinese meal. There was also a guest speaker. Christiine Edwards from Jimboomba Quota gave us a short talk on the workings of Quota, and John McClelland, Regional President of St Vincent de Paul Logan/Albert South Coast.
Recycling Old Specs, Batteries, Cans, & Bottles
Dispose of old spectacles and sunglasses at the Lions Stall each month at the markets. They will be reconditioned for repurposing to needy communities. Used household batteries, empty cans and bottles can also be dropped off for recycling. Our Markets
