Orchid & Foliage Display & Sales Great Event!
Back in 1982 when the Society started, it was originally called the ‘Logan & District Orchid Society’ and met up in Beaudesert, but later evolved and changed to the ‘Beaudesert Districts Orchid & Foliage Society Inc’.
The main aim of the Group was for members to grow and show the plants they loved and twice a year to have shows – which were really well attended with up to 800 coming through the door each year. Bushfires and Covid-19 over the last couple of years have had an impact, but the still very popular ‘Display & Sales Event’ attracts around 400 visitors with a great number of plants being sold each time. September’s event was no different, with visitors lined up right down the street waiting for the hall doors to open!

From 20 to 25 members attend the monthly meetings with attendance still slightly down from the effects of Covid. But an upcoming Social Night in November – where plants are benched, pizza is delivered, and an informal chat and catch up is enjoyed – is sure to attract a great many members! Next year the society is planning to hold another massive Show.
