Getting Ready For The Stair Climb

Community Work In A ‘Pretty Quiet’ Month …

Fire Warden – Trevor Henderson – reports that only 4 permits have been issued since last meeting, and so has been very pretty quiet once again due to the rain.

Training Officer – Terry Watkins provided the following: there has been no change to the training status at this time with two firefighters waiting to complete their Firefighters Minimum Skills (FMS) training. Training certificates were presented to Zaydan Clancy.

VCE Community Engagement Hayley Muchow – thanks were given to everyone who helped with carparking at the Bearded Dragon for the Mammoth Market event – it was a very busy day! At the next market event, volunteers will help to educate the public on the new Fire Danger Rating System.

1st Officer Report – Terry Watkins – reports it has been a pretty quiet 2 months with 10 Callouts in total – 5 x RTC, 2 x Structure Fire, 2 x Car Fire & 1 x Other – but we are starting to see some more grass fires popping up around the area, so conditions are starting to become challenging.

2nd Officer Report – Trevor Henderson – the crew recently attended and completed 1 Hazard Reduction (HR) Burn.

3rd Officer Report – Steve Curtis – thanked all members who were involved with the Bearded Dragon parking.

First Aid Course –  the next first aid course will be on Saturday the 15th of October – which will be a full day course to cover First Aid, CPR, and Advanced Resus.

Rhapsody Stair Climb – members from the Tamborine Rural Fire Brigade – Grace McGhie, Kieron Maynard, and Cameron McRae have teamed up with members from Station 55 Yarrabilba Auxiliaries – Paul Rutherford, Daniel Roberts, and Damian Robert to participate in the Rhapsody Stair Climb in September which is a fundraising  event for Firefighters Cancer Foundation of Australia (FCFA).
