Partyin’ Mood @ Paddock Sessions

BANDEMIC Live Music Sessions Are BACK!

It’s warming up in Tamborine which means Bearded Dragon Hotel is back with their Bandemic Live Music Paddock Sessions – sure to get you in the partyin’ mood!

Starting back in 2020, Bandemic was founded as a way to support local and live musicians and artists right here in the heart of Tamborine! Bearded Dragon Hotel offers a fantastic family day out, boasting free live music every weekend, all day dining, local craft beers and cocktails from the outdoor garden bar, onsite alpacas and so much more! Grab your crew and head out to the country, the Bandemic is not to be missed!!

September makes way for some incredible local and touring artists! Notably joining us on the Beergarden stage is Ruben Reeves: One Man Band hailing from the southernmost tip of Tasmania and heading out to Tamborine for an exclusive show at Bearded Dragon Hotel.

He’ll be hitting the mainstage Friday 16th September from 6pm and Saturday 17th September from 2pm! Reeves is a must-see act with thousands of hours of live experience – he knows a thing or two about putting on a show!

The project began for this mid-twenty’s singer-songwriter in 2015 when regular band life became too much to handle. He lost his mind and went running into the forest. no one saw him for a while. But when he emerged, he had a twinkle in his eye and a suitcase full of wisdom. He’d been up to something. And that something became more obvious when The Whaler, the longest standing bar of the Hobart party district took him on as the regular weekend act. Drunk people dancing spewing out the door and blocking the street every week for years.

696 live performances around the continent later, by 2020 this humble bluesman became a solo musical force unto his own. Playing alongside many notable acts on the Tasmanian leg of their tours, the headliners wouldn’t always look at their humble supporter like they did with the others. They finally knew what Ruben already knows.

How do you really grow up Big and Strange? Wrap up the weekend with some Boot Scootin’ country music, espresso martinis, and dance the afternoon away Sunday 18th September 2-5pm!

What do you get when you cross the songwriting integrity of Kasey Chambers, the story- telling capabilities of Kelsea Ballerini and a tinge of Emylou Harris? You get the sweet country sounds of Byron Shire’s Tahlia Matheson. With a knack for compelling storytelling, natural production and that classic country vocal twang, Tahlia’s name is one to keep fresh in your mind!

Tahlia developed her love for songwriting at the ripe age of 14 during a school assessment that pushed her to write her own music. Two years later, she attended the Tamworth Country Music Festival, swapping out the piano for a guitar and solidifying her goal to become an established country artist. Since then she’s travelled the world, including 2 trips to Nashville, Tennessee, with the first including 5 weeks of songwriting across the globe. She also made her mark there with a performance at world renowned venue The Blue Bird Café, a highlight of her music career thus far. Tahlia also attended another songwriting retreat in the UK at the established London Institute of Contemporary Performance.

She hasn’t limited her talents to overseas though, solidifying herself as a driving force in local music performing at The National Folk Festival in Canberra, Byron Bay’s Bluesfest, booking a bunch of regular gigs up and down the East coast as well as playing the main stage at the beloved Gympie Muster.
