Some of the items addressed at the Tamborine and Districts Citizens Association Inc’s monthly meeting for July were:

Business Report:

TDCA Inc Markets – Although the ground was a little damp, the weather was good and it was a great day for the July Tamborine Community Country Market with many stalls and visitors. Looking forward to the next Market on 21 August!

Membership – The TDCA Inc meeting for July had a ‘full house’ with all 13 members and 1 guest attending. It was great to see – community members are welcome to join!

Tamborine Car Show – As the date for Tamborine’s second-ever Car Show draws nearer, preparations are ‘heating up’! Live music, delicious food vendors, and some very special displays are all locked in! Also don’t forget the fairy floss and raffle prizes! If business owners or residents would like to be included as a sponsor or raffle prize donor, please contact Syd on 0427 452 261 or email tdca.inc@gmail.com.

Cuppa In The Communi-Tea – The ‘cuppa and a chat’ morning for July hosted by the SRRC, was quite well attended despite the rain, with an ‘informative display’ of giveaways, and the NBN Ambassador available for a chat about the service.

Mundoolun-Connection Road Intersection – TDCA Inc will discuss further the ongoing concerns regarding the Mundoolun-Connection Road intersection following the recent very tragic accident – and possible follow up action that can be taken with the Dept of Transport & Main Roads.

Councillor’s Report:

Budget – The Budget 2022-23 of $103.2 million has been released, with $34 million allocated towards capital works including roads, footpaths, bridges, and other infrastructure.

Let’s Talk Scenic Rim – As a consultation/communication device for matters concerning the Scenic Rim, Cr Jeff urges residents to register on the platform. Currently 510 residents have joined with around 75% of people interacting.

Palomino Road – Due to heavy loads of traffic, a suggestion has been made to make the road a ‘Local Traffic Only’ road.

Ambulance Access – In light of recent accident at Hall corner where an ambulance took over 40 minutes from the Gold Coast to reach the scene – further discussions will be made about location of new ambulance station to the local area.
