Five Beautiful Open Gardens

Camellia & Magnolia Festival Of Open Gardens

Tamborine Mountain Garden Club held their inaugural Camellia & Magnolia Festival of Open Gardens on July 30 &31. The hard work of Garden Owners and the Club was rewarded by perfect weather, enthusiastic crowds from as far as Warwick, Bundaberg and beyond, compliments from attendees and positive feedback from mountain businesses.

Five beautiful private gardens opened to the public for the occasion. There was some apprehension, as many camellias had flowered earlier than usual after unseasonal rains. However, plenty of the later flowering varieties, as well as magnificent magnolias, were blooming in the feature gardens, the Botanic Gardens and along many of the mountain’s streetscapes, to the delight of visitors.

As Tamborine Mountain has prime conditions for these beautiful and popular plants, many gardeners felt visitors should have an opportunity to enjoy them in addition to the spring flowerings, so this year TM Garden Club conducted the Festival as a pilot program.

Although the Springtime on the Mountain Festival being just two months later makes it a very busy time for TM Garden Club, the enthusiastic reception to the July Festival has them excited and keen to repeat the success. They look forward to bringing more garden joy to attendees from far and wide, and a further boost to local businesses.

Another 5 beautiful private gardens will open for “Springtime” on Fri 24 & Sat 25 September. Tickets are available online at tamborinemountaingardenclub.org.au
