When You’re Onto A Good Thing … Stick To It!

We hope everyone had a great time watching the Olympics!
I must say I am ‘sick’ of hearing and writing about lockdowns, masks and restrictions, but they do seem to dominate our lives at the moment. Even though I enjoy being part of the media, media itself has seemed to have driven everything to the point where it is becoming harder to watch the news – well for me anyway.
As we went to print with the last edition, a ‘snap lockdown knockdown’ occurred. Not only did planned events become victim to the restrictions (including the Ekka, oh no!), our delivery became difficult throughout the lockdown! The first week of the month saw a lot of businesses close their doors making it a bit tough to distribute in some areas. But home delivery went smoothly, and we were able to distribute almost everything in a timely manner by the end of the week. We were, in this respect, very proud to be able to deliver an essential service of communication in printed form (but bit too shiny for loo paper, haha!).
Masks are another dimension to this whole ‘pandemic dynamic’. Although not viewed as necessary at the start of the outbreak, they have gradually worked themselves into our everyday lives so that every time we venture out into the ‘zombie world’ we are required to wear one! They have become the newest fashion statement in a sense with so many shapes and designs out there. And we do mean ‘out there’ – we even saw a Dr Who Tardis themed one (thanks Gary)! The other day, we saw on TV Show ‘The Doctors’ that you can use a ‘candle test’ to find out if your mask is effective. Simply hold a lit candle in front of your masked face to see if you can move the flame by blowing. If it moves or goes out – not effective! Oh well, ‘herd of zombies’ here we come!
