All Revved Up For Tamborine’s 3rd Car Show!
It was without a doubt the ‘best third ever Car Show’ of Tamborine! Months in the planning, over 120 vehicles and motorbikes lined up on the day to enter the Tamborine Memorial Hall grounds for the ‘Best Car Show in Tamborine’!
Making for a great event: the band ‘Nostalgix’ played popular ‘car show favourites’, a central display featured classic caravans and cars, a gathering of motorcycles lined the fence, an array of fantastic go karts perched on stands, even a petting zoo with a different kind of ‘horse-power’, don’t forget Food Alley, and club displays including an impressive range of HSVs and HDTS, and the Vauxhill club with members enjoying a picnic while waiting to be judged.
And judge they did! Hosts of the Show, the team from the Tamborine & District Citizens Association Inc, appointed sponsors and members from the community to take a clipboard and scrutinise the many vehicles for different categories with a massive 14 trophies to be presented by the Town Crier, Deputy Mayor Jeff McConnell, and our sponsors!
A major attraction was the People’s Choice Award – with a $1000 cash prize up for grabs very kindly donated by Buckys Concreting & Excavation. Syd’s vintage Maxwell AA 1910, chosen most popular by the crowd (of upwardly to 1000 visitors), was presented with this ultimate prize! Thank you Bucky! And thank you to all of our amazing sponsors – we couldn’t do it without you – hope you enjoyed the t-shirts!
A great day was had by all – everyone was suitably impressed by the incredible range of greatly loved and cared for vehicles – a great honour for the Car Show to have! We’re all revved up for next years with date set of Sunday 25 August 2024 – keep your eye out for the booking link – it will be the ‘best fourth ever Car Show’ in Tamborine!
