Elizabeth Jobson ‘Life Blood Of The Unit’ …
Recently the Scenic Rim SES Unit Awards were presented to SES members for 2022. One long term member of the Tamborine Mountain Group, Elizabeth Jobson, was honoured with a very special award.
Group Leader Phil said on presentation of the award:
“This evening I am here to talk about this year’s award recipient for Tamborine, she is the life blood of Tamborine Mountain who has fed us countless times without a second thought, has made toasties when we are all wet, and has organised our uniforms to immaculate status. Without your help we would be unclothed when we are wet and hungry. I would like to present Tamborine’s Group Award for 2022 to Elizabeth.”
He then went on to say how “Elizabeth makes a great contribution to her group, working quietly behind the scenes. Not all members are able to climb mountains or tarp a roof, but all are an important part of the team.” Elizabeth felt extremely honoured to be named Member Of The Year.
As there is more rain forecast for the Summer season, preparation is encouraged by the SES asking to please ensure you have cleaned out your gutters and cleared drains. These simple measures can make a big difference!
Tamborine Mountain SES train on Tuesday nights from 7pm at the SES depot on Knoll Road.
They are always looking for new members to join the team.
