Vonda Youngman Drive
The culvert located between Murray Grey Drive and Curio Court on Vonda Youngman Drive is currently being repaired after maintenance identified an issue with the metal culverts. Council Officer have inspected the culvert twice a week for safety while a contractor become available to conduct the repairs.
I have had numerous complaints from residents about the speed in which drivers who use the road are traveling. I will be talking with QPS about more traffic management patrols (speed camera’s) to catch those offending as well as the Council roads manager to investigate possible traffic calming works.
New Chief Executive Officer
Last week I hosted the new Chief Executive Officer, Mr David Keenan on a tour around Division 2. It was great to be able to discuss some of the long term problems of the area and the CEO was very receptive to the issues that I raised. I look forward to working with the new CEO who, what I believe, will be a breath of fresh air to the Council.
Special Advisor to Council
The State have appointed a special Advisor to assist Council with managing Council meetings and provide governance so some of the Conflict of Interest issues that have arisen over the last 12 months. In no way has the Council been dysfunctional it is just a difference of option on the use of conflicts of interest and how meetings should be conducted.
I look forward to working with the advisor who should be appointed in the new year ready for our first meeting in January.

I wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. May the festive season bring much joy and happiness to your family and relatives. Let’s pray that 2023 brings a better year than the last two, which have been severely affected by COVID.
