Tamborine Village Lions Club News for August 2022

$35,000 Community Donations

Fund-Raising Events Washed Out For July

A fairly quiet month for Tamborine Village Lions in July as far as fund-raising and events were concerned. The weather and various viruses meant that many of our events were cancelled, starting with the Markets at the beginning of the month.  Rain made the grounds really soggy and unsafe.

We were unfortunately unable to help Canungra Rodeo with their parking because of ill health among our members.

And the Communi-tea put on by the Scenic Rim Council at the end of the month was also a bit of a wash-out.

Hopefully August is a better one.

Changeover Dinner

It’s a Lions tradition that a changeover dinner be held to celebrate the installation of a new board each financial year.  This year’s event was held at the Green Frog Hollow Café at Logan Village with a music theme.

Over forty club members and friends attended this year and the new Board was installed by Past District Governor Peter Ho.  Peter congratulated the club on donations of over $35,000 to the community in the past year.

There was actually little change in this year’s board with Paul Krahnen remaining President.  We welcomed a new Treasurer, Di Clough replacing Kath Murrie-Jones who has done an outstanding job over the past five years.

Awards were given to a number of members for putting in extra effort and a fun night was held by all.
