Tamborine Village Lions Club News for July 2022

Donation Of A Braille Machine
Tamborine Village Lions together with other Lions Clubs in the area contributed over $7,000 for a braille machine donated to a young man who has been blind from birth. At our dinner meeting recently, we had a demonstration of the machine and a presentation of the work being done in the field of work for the blind.

Childhood Cancer
The June Tamborine Village Markets in aid of Lions Childhood Cancer Research were a big success and resulted in a donation of $656 being made to the Foundation. Thanks to our supporters of this market and for your kind donations. Since 1996 Lions Australia has contributed over $12 million to childhood cancer research.

Catering For RTCB Bike Event
It was an excellent day at the Bikes at the stunning Aratula location on Sunday 19th June. Tamborine Village Lions were bolstered by family members and with Lions from Mount Tamborine. Weather conditions were perfect, visitors to the stall were charming and food and drinks were totally sold out. Proceeds from this event will be distributed to the community locally and also Australia-wide when natural disasters occur.

Lions Recycle For Sight
Don’t forget to come to the monthly Markets to usefully dispose of your old spectacles and sunglasses at the Lions Stall at our monthly markets on the first Sunday of each month. These will be reconditioned and sent to needy communities in both Australia and overseas
We can also recycle used household batteries and your empty cans and bottles.
We are very grateful for the support of the community who have helped over the years. If anyone would like to join us, membership enquiries can be made of Phil on 0411 708 234 or by email on tamborinevillage.qld@lions.org.au
