Attractive Option For Local Students

Set to open in 2021, San Damiano College, Catholic secondary school, as an attractive option for local students, is taking enrolments now for Year 7 students in 2021.
San Damiano College will provide am affordable, quality, co-educational secondary education for the communities in and around Yarrabilba, Logan Village, Chambers Flat and Tamborine.
Situated on a 5.8-hectare site at Yarrabilba, San Damiano College will be completed in four stages with stage one ready to welcome our first intake of 75 Year 7 students in January. Enrolments will increase by one year level each year until 2026 when the Year 12s graduate.
Yarrabilba locals may have seen the construction progress of the college, which is located on the corner of Yarrabilba Drive and Woodward Avenue. A significant phase recently occurred with the laying of distinctive red terracotta tiles on the main building. These tiles are designed to bring to mind the Italian village of Assisi, which is the inspiration for the design of San Damiano College.
The name San Damiano comes from the San Damiano cross in front of which St Francis was praying when God urged him to teach others how to embrace the Gospel in their lives. The colours in the school crest reflect the natural ecology of Yarrabilba.
All San Damiano College students will have access to a diverse curriculum coupled with sporting activities, university engagement and vocational pathways. It is part of a 32-hectare educational precinct being developed in partnership with government, university, community and corporate agencies.
This learning oasis will feature modern buildings, state of the art equipment, and an affordable fee structure which includes a laptop for every student.
We are also blessed to have an overall holistic approach underpinned by the values and standards of the Brisbane Catholic Education community.
The foundation Principal Peter Edwards said that his goal is to create a warm and welcoming environment where every student will be known by name. Every student will be supported to reach their full academic and personal potential to become young people of faith, courage and integrity.
While a Catholic school, founded in the Franciscan tradition, San Damiano College is an inclusive community and welcomes students of all faiths who support the values and ethos of the school. There is no fee for enrolment and the college is offering reasonable school fees including financial aid for families requiring assistance and discounts for siblings.
Places are filling up for the first student intake. There will be 75 students in the first Year 7 intake, with the college population and infrastructure growing over subsequent years until complete with around 500 students, in years 7–12 in 2026.
