SUMMARY:Botanic Gardens' Massive Plant Sale
DESCRIPTION:Botanic Gardens Prepares Massive Plant Sale To Celebrate Springtime \nThe team at Tamborine Mountain Regional Botanic Gardens is preparing a massive two-day plant sale during the last weekend in September to celebrate the arrival of Springtime. \nThe plant sale will be open from 8am to noon on Friday\, September 29 and Saturday\, September 30 at the Bobby White propagation pavilion at the southern end of the Gardens with prices ranging from $5. \nBobby White\, leader of the Botanic Gardens’ legendary propagation team\, said they have been working hard over the past months to prepare a large variety for visitors to select. \n“We are excited to again offer a number of the spectacular bat plants\,” she said. “They are native to southern Asia and certain to sell quickly so buyers need to arrive early! \n“Day lilies are looking really good right now. We also have a range of irises and colourful coleus as well as a great variety of succulents. \n“Another special offering is orlaya that we have grown from seed. This shrub has finely-divided leaves\, and umbels of lacy pink or white flowers. It is similar to the well-known Queen Anne’s Lace which grows wild and spectacularly through hedgerows in England. \n“We do ask that our visitors bring their own bags or boxes to take their purchases to the car park as we simply do not have enough supply.” \nVehicles will be available to help plant enthusiasts to take their prize purchases to their cars and the team can accept cash or card for payment. \nA succulent sausage sizzle will be held close to the plant pavilion on both days. \nChildren are also catered for on Saturday\, September 30\, with special activities through Sooty Owl’s Creekside Trail. \nAll proceeds from the sale go to the ongoing maintenance of the Botanic Gardens.

SUMMARY:Botanic Gardens Art Raffle Offers Superb Still Life Oil Painting
DESCRIPTION:The team at Tamborine Mountain Regional Botanic Gardens is proud to announce a superb art raffle\nas part of the major celebration for the Gardens’ 40th Anniversary Celebrations on Sunday\, 28 May 2023. \nTickets are $2 each or three for $5 and will be available at the Gardens’ propagation pavilion\non Wednesday and Thursday mornings\, from about 8.30am to 11.30am until May 25. Cash or card payments are available.\nThe painting will be on display during these times. \nThe winning ticket will be drawn during celebrations in the Gardens at 2pm on Sunday\, May 28. \nThe celebrations throughout the Gardens will also include a major plant sale\, music\, activities for children\, and a sausage sizzle. \nThe art raffle is a magnificent still life of flowers painted by artist Barbara Briers.\nWhile Barbara did not live on the Mountain\, she loved our Botanic Gardens and drew great inspiration from them.\nSadly\, Barbara died a year ago. Her husband\, Alfred Briers\, has generously offered the work to the Gardens team to raise funds for our ongoing development. \nThe painting is oil on board\, approximately 450mm by 600mm\, and elegantly framed. \nTo purchase tickets and to support the work of the Gardens volunteers\, simply follow the “Plant Sale” signs\nalong the main road through the Gardens to the propagation pavilion in our newly surfaced service area at the southern end of the Gardens.
