The ‘Honey Bees’\, written by Australian playwright Caleb Leis is the story of a family owned apiaries struggles to survive while the world ‘s honeybees are disappearing.\nSet at a small family-owned apiary in dry and desolate outback Western Australia\, this beautifully crafted story explores the life and history of a bee-keeping household including countless subplots\, twists and turns that intertwine in a tight\, enthralling manner.\nJoan is the strong-willed mother and widow who runs the business\, with help from her daughter Clover\, dedicated labourer Kerrie (and long-term partner of Clover) and some overworked and underpaid ‘woofers’ (backpackers). Her son Daryl has secured a business transaction with a US company to keep his family’s apiary financially safeguarded\, but the agreement does not exactly go according to plan. Amidst this increasingly stressful situation arrives Melissa\, a twenty something angsty runaway from Sydney searching for answers. The Honey Bees is a tale of family and empire; action and consequences; and what happens when the bee finally stings!\nDirector and president of the Village Green Theatre Group\, Jo Connolly says that it is the first drama the group has presented. When searching for a show to produce\, The Honey Bees stood out as a play that would resonate with the community as there are many local beekeepers in the area. The Parish provides support to many local charities including\, but not limited to\, assistance to struggling families and victims of domestic violence\, pastoral relationships with the local ecumenical school and much needed support for the police chaplaincy program with Queensland Police Service. The Rockin’ Jimmy’s event helps ensure that the Parish can continue to provide this vital support to the community now and into the future. \nSo be sure to come along for the Rockin’ Jimmy’s experience and help make 2021 bigger and better.

DESCRIPTION:Due to the cancellation of the Ekka\, Royal Adelaide Show and local shows in the area like Beaudesert and Canungra\, show families have banded together to put on QLD State Fair to help our struggling industry in these difficult and unknowing times. \nWe have rides that you would normally find at the Ekka\, such as The Beast and the Wheel Of Oz which is Australia’s largest travelling Ferris Wheel\, also the Twister Ride\, brand new to Australia and was set to make its debut for the Ekka! \nFamily favourite games\, dagwood dogs waffles and fairy floss\, a great selection of showbags including everyone’s favourite Bertie Beetle Bag! Also\, a great selection of kiddies rides so there’s something fun for everyone! \n$2 entry into the fair and free parking. Located at Hills International College\, Jimboomba. Running from 3rd-5th Sept and 10th-12th of September. Fireworks both Saturday nights!
